Nicola Stott – MBACP – Counsellor Lymm
Hi, I’m Nicola. I understand it can be hard both asking for help and finding someone to place your trust in, so here’s a bit about me. I chose to become a counsellor following my own life experiences. I’d describe myself as a what you see is what you get kind of person, down to earth, approachable, caring, logical and candid.
I believe that having a safe, confidential space to freely say whatever is on your mind is powerful and beneficial for anybody. I think we all deserve to choose our own life path and possess the ability to work towards this.
I’m an integrative counsellor working with a person-centred base. This means we move at your pace, and I will listen with empathy and without judgement. I’ll help you to look at things from different perspectives with a view to you finding solutions and making informed decisions. Being integrative means I can bring in other techniques where appropriate to enhance our work together such as CBT and Solution Focussed work.
I’m also a trauma informed practitioner and where relevant will share information to empower you with understanding and self-awareness to gain a better understanding of your situation.
I’m a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) which gives you assurance that I work at a high ethical standard.
I also have extensive experience managing business functions including Finance and HR and I possess strong development and coaching skills. This feeds into my practice as I can include a specific goal as part of your counselling journey.
I have lived experience of the challenges of infertility and the emotional impact of premature menopause alongside supporting others with eating disorders.
