Cherie Keeling Counsellor Lymm
Hi, I’m Cherie from Sunflower Counselling and Wellbeing. I created Sunflower Counselling and Wellbeing because I’m truly passionate about supporting individuals with their mental health and helping them grow through life’s challenges.
As a young carer to a parent with significant mental health struggles, I experienced multiple challenges in childhood. Consequently, my empathy and compassion have always felt strong. It did however mean I became ‘the listener’ and often put others needs before my own. This led to my own personal struggles with ongoing low mood as an adult, at this point I accessed counselling myself. Realising the power of this type of support, inspired me to train as a therapist myself.
Fast forward to now, with over 15 years of experience working in mental health across multiple sectors including children’s crisis services, the voluntary sector, inpatient CAMHS and adult inpatient psychiatric services, both in group and one to one session’s. I currently offer compassionate, one to one counselling sessions for adults, young people, and adolescents. Where each session is tailored to your individual needs, offering a supportive space where you can feel heard, without judgement. 🌻
I have a level 7 qualification in counselling and psychotherapy and I am a registered member of the BACP (British association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and follow their ethical guidelines. Meaning I am regulated by ethical guidelines that ensure I provide the best standard of care possible. I am fully insured. I am trained in Person Centred Therapy and have many years of experience working creatively. What this means for you is I can tailor the sessions to support you in a way that works for you.
