Katie Woods Person-Centred Counsellor Lymm
Sometimes life gets difficult. It can feel like everything is getting on top of you. It doesn’t matter how old you are or what you are dealing with.
I work with adults and young people offering one-to-one sessions. I am passionate about the work I do. Having experience of therapy myself I appreciate how helpful it is to receive caring and empathic support whilst navigating these difficult times.
You may be experiencing anger, anxiety, depression or stress; going through life changes, dealing with a personal loss, have low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, trauma or having relationship issues. Is something from your past still affecting your present?
You may feel it is easier to push away your feelings and say you are okay. This isn’t always possible as feelings & emotions still find a way to the surface which can affect your mental health and wellbeing. In our counselling sessions we will create a space to focus on the now, reflecting on what feels important to you, to try and understand what and why you are feeling this way. I believe the Person-Centred approach will enable growth towards healing, trusting yourself and restoring calmness.
About me –
I am a compassionate person-centred counsellor. I use my experience, training and own life exposures to enable me to have a deeper understanding, thus allowing me to truly empathise with you.
I always feel privileged to be invited into someone’s life, as together we talk about your issues we can help bring a sense of clarity & relief which will have a positive impact on your wellbeing.
You may feel nervous about counselling. I will help you feel safe and at ease, the rooms I work in are warm, comfortable and private. I believe and trust in you. You will set the pace and we will take the time to build trust and honesty between us in a non-judgemental space.
The therapeutic relationship between you and I is key. Having someone who you are truly able to relate to is extremely valuable. You are not alone.
