Alexandra Gillyon – Integrative Counsellor – Lymm
I am an integrative counsellor and work with people looking for change, ways to cope, grow or to find meaning. My approach is honest, warm and supportive and I offer flexible and adhoc appointments.
I offer a down-to-earth approach to counselling, with my belief that at the heart it is a conversation about living. Therapy aims to help you suffer or struggle less and work on opening up the possibilities in your life. I don’t attempt to “fix” you or tell you what to do, and sessions involve working collaboratively with you to help you move forward with your life in a way that feels positive.
My training background is a BSc in Psychology and an MA in Integrative Counselling and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. My additional training and workshops have included exploring different creative approaches to therapy.
I can work with you to identify patterns that have so far been unhelpful in your life, to help you find your potential and live in a way that feels more fulfilling and authentic with your true self. This understanding can be cathartic and also help you make decisions about things or come to terms with areas of your life that you cannot change. Some sessions can involve solution focused techniques when people are looking for specific changes in their life or way of living, if that feels right for you. My experience includes working with people struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship problems, loss and fear about the future. I also work with military veterans or members of their families, focusing on issues including service life, operational deployments, or struggles with the transition to civilian life.
I have worked with a diverse cultural mix and range of ages, and my practice is LGBTQ friendly.
Sessions are 50 minutes and cost £40.
